First and last rice cooker you will ever need.
This has been a dream purchase for a good long while for me. Cooking as a hobby has been such a rewarding journey. If you’re like me and ever since you were a child you were fed things that were never cooked as well or served as properly as it could be.This rice cooker will serve you well. I’m only beginning my journey with this rice cooker but I hope it serves me and my family for years to come. It’s a bit large since I got the 12 cup but it’s a beautiful piece for the kitchen. It’s a rice cooker so cleaning isn’t too bad. Just a pot and most things inside are removable. Just clean with care per the instructions. The biggest draw for you to get this and like all things fine dining is the quality of your food. This machine will take care of your rice and make it the best possible way it can. If you’re looking to make the classiest and best dish possible at home with little to no experience cooking rice this machine will make you look like a pro. It’s expensive but 22/10. If you plan on continually eating out after purchasing just give it away.

Good rice cooker, and good deal on used item
I've made a few pots of rice since getting this, and so far so good! My favorite features are that it gives the exact cooking time (my old, cheap Aroma cooker only shows the time at the last ~10 minutes, after 15-90 minutes of uncertainty...), and that you can set it to be ready at a certain time. Both white and brown rice has been fluffy and evenly cooked. No hot spots, crusty films, or burnt bits on the bottom. Brown rice took 90 minutes, and white rice, if I remember correctly, around 20.Buttons are simple and intuitive. The musical sound it plays at the start and end of cooking is sort of odd? The "start" song is a two-bar rendition of Mary Had a Little Lamb and/or Twinkle Twinkle Little Star? But it's not annoying, and it's nicer than the usual series of high-pitched beeps. The cooker itself is sleek and smaller than I expected. It looks good on our counter and matches our stainless steel appliances.I saw several reviews mention the sound being like a computer fan. That concerned me before I bought, so I wanted to mention that the sound has not been a problem at all. When it's actively cooking, it just sounds like a small appliance is quietly humming away in the kitchen. It's quieter than our microwave, water kettle, coffee maker, air fryer, and basically all regular appliances. We balked a bit at the price, but we took a risk on Amazon's "Used - Very Good" offer, and I was very pleasantly surprised. It came in original packaging and probably had only been opened and re-closed by another buyer. Feels like we got a great deal, and even though it was still expensive, I feel it was worth it for a long-lasting, easy-to-use cooking staple.

I’ve waited 8 years to write this review!
I bought this rice cooker back in 2017, 8 years ago. I am Thai and rice is always on the menu. We’re a family of 6, two adults and four kids, so I decided on the 10 cup size. Zojirushi has been a household name for many electric appliances since I was born, from water heaters, to rice cookers, to a thermos. Deciding on which brand was an easy task.Fast forward to today, it’s 2025 and this rice cooker has been a faithful workhorse for us. With almost daily use, the quality of rice has been great from day one until now. Soft fluffy rice that doesn’t turn yellow on keep warm function (unless you leave it like that for about 5 days).Cleaning is a breeze, just wipe clean with a damp paper towel. I usually do the cleaning right before the next batch as we have this sitting on the counter and the kids would help themselves whenever they’re hungry (teenagers), this makes summer break super easy for me. One thing to keep in mind though, if you’re just finishing the batch (been sitting on the warm function), the unit needs to be unplugged and sit for about 10 minutes to cool down before you can start using it again. If you need to make a back to back batches, do factor in this waiting period. The normal cooking time is about 56 minutes on Jasmine rice, shorter for sushi rice. This is normal for a good rice cooker. The induction part makes the rice stay soft even through refrigeration.
