The missing piece!
The whole time I was reading Bound By Honor I was thinking how I would love to have Luca's POV. After I read the entire'Bound By' series I stumbled on to this as it wasn't listed as a book in the series. I was so pleased to have found it I couldn't wait to read it. At times finding myself flipping back and forth between this book and the original with only Aria's version during certain scenes. A great companion book for Bound By Honor.

Loved it!
4/5 ⭐️ I love mafia romance and I was in the mood for one. This one definitely left me satisfied. I knew this had the cheating trope going in and I’m always very wary of this trope. Especially when it’s the hero doing the cheating but for some reason I didn’t mind it here. Aria did make it seem like it wasn’t going to be a real marriage. I feel like they should have communicated better.I liked the overall plot and I did love the characters. I liked how Luca came to care for Aria and how he slowly started to fall for her. He literally had a soft spot only for her and it was so adorable. I liked Aria. She was sweet and innocent but she had a strong heart. It was heartbreaking reading about the childhood that Luca had. His father was a real scumbag.I felt very connected to the side characters as well and I can’t wait to read their books. Except Dante. The dead wife trope is one that I hate the most.Overall, I had a great time reading this 👍🏼

I don’t understand the hype. It’s just an okay read nothing really even happens.
Luca Vitiello is the same book as Bound By Honor except it’s told in Luca’s POV. It’s the exact same book though just FYI. It has some additional scenes because when Aria and Luca separated for their day we never saw Luca’s perspective. This book was interesting in the sense that I wonder if Cora Reilly always thought of this idea or did she do it years later. This and Aria’s POV version would have been so great if it was just one book with both Luca’s and Aria’s POV going back and forth.Aria was sweet and genuinely nice in her book so it was hard to dislike her. She’s a great older sister to her 3 younger siblings and the daughter of the Capo of the Chicago Outfit (The Mafia).Luca and Aria are both Italian and both the children of the bosses of the mafia. Luca’s father is the Capo of the New York Famiglia. Luca’s father is so cruel! There are scenes in this book that left my jaw open the entire time. I could not believe the brutality of Luca’s father. Then at other times, I wasn’t sure if it felt genuine or if the author put the most horrible things she could think of that a man could do to a woman in order for the reader to feel shock. It worked however certain things seemed a bit extra like how Luca’s father told him his greatest pleasure is in breaking a woman sexually and kept telling Luca to brutally take his new wife. I was like “meh” okay this is just extra super big bad mafia boss talk but in actuality, wouldn’t a mob boss care about business, his mob, etc. way more things then how to break a woman in bed. That whole portion of the book seemed way too extra to me and it made me roll my eyes at times.Aside from that I liked the book. Didn’t love it and don’t know if I’ll continue this story. The problem for me is this read was very dragged out and slow. Luca and Aria get married in an arranged marriage set by both of their fathers. The book is the merging of families and Aria and Luca getting to know each other. It was all a bit anticlimactic for me. I also don’t really like the idea of Gianna being forced to marry Luca’s bother Mateo against her will. If she really doesn’t want to, leave her alone.I felt bad for Luca a lot throughout the book. He was such a nice guy and treated Aria like a queen. She was soooo annoying at times!Okay reality check: you’re the daughter of THE mafia boss in all of Chicago. You knew since you were 15 you were going to get married and then at 18 she’s all “don’t touch me”. He respected EVERYTHING he asked for and in the end, she kept saying no to sleeping with him. She had 3 years to get used to the idea or try to run away or whatever else. She didn’t. She still couldn’t just deal with it and always had to complain! Ugh poor Luca!! I felt so bad that she treated him the way she did. We didn’t even get to see her be nicer to him :(In the end there was a HEA (I guess). Eh, I’m sorry but I don’t get the hype at all. I’m confused about the popularity of this series. I found the book “ok” but it was highly lacking in entertainment. The way Cora writes skips over the parts that I love as well. She kind of glosses over certain scenes. It was missing the romance, the angst, the cuddling, the action the love. It was written in a way that missed the highlights of romance to me.

Love me some Luca
Ugh! You really can't go wrong with a Cora Reilly book. I love her characters, they are so damaged but yet want love and goodness in their life. Can't wait to read more from this author.

Im a sucker for the whole "i dont know how i feel because ive never felt like this before you" it just melys my heart! And luca dkes just that i love how he has his syrong alpha capo mode but how with aria he lets down those walls and is just so gentleThis will always be my favourite mafia series especially because you get a lot of every charcter, the world building is amazing and you get to experience the mafia world it plays such a significant role in the plot and its executed perfectly.

The original couple
LUCA VITIELLO (Born in Blood Mafia Chronicles 0.5)Cora ReillyThis is BOUND BY HONOR in Luca's POV, including an insight from his childhood & teenage years. And his bond with his brother Matteo.Luca was born and raised in the Famiglia by a Father who is the cruellest monster who happens to be the current Capo, until Luca takes his place.Luca is to marry Aria (a daughter from the Chicago Outfit) to bring peace between New York and Chicago. We've seen from Aria's POV in Bound by Honor, how Luca came across as a force to be reckoned with. Now we're being treated by Cora by getting it from Luca's POV.Yes, Luca's a brute. He has to be seen as strong, to be a good Capo, to gain respect, to be feared.Aria is petrified of Luca.He sees this, and it's the last thing he wants as he's seen it from the way his father treated his mother and how he treats his stepmother. He doesn't want to turn into his father.Women have fallen at his feet in the past, he's never had to work for the attention. So he's got his work cut out for himself to gain Aria's trust.Meanwhile the Bratva are causing problems. So Luca has his hands full.Find out how Luca fell completely for Aria.

I had a love hate relation with Luca from BbH but tbh I love him after I read this one...
Single POV from the Luca our Male Main Character... There were time I did not like him and was mad angry at him you will have to read to know.... I hoped for a little grovel but ugh there was none I felt I Aria could have been a bit more stronger as a character but I completely under why she did what she did because that s the way she is... Love how Romero is protective of her like an elder brother to Aria. I have conflicting feelings of this book because sometimes Aria and Luca left me angry but again I understood them better with this book. would suggest to either start with this or Bound by Honour to get both their POVs but honestly there could have been a little more character development to Luca where he is actually sorry and grovels but otherwise it was nice and a spicy read ;)

feel like I know Luca so much better for it.
This is Bound in blood but this time told completely from Luca POV and it was something I was really looking forward to experiencing, basically filling in the blanks and getting some perspective into Luca’s mindset and actions and though I’ve rated this the same it did have a slight edge for me with my enjoyment factor. You really got to understand just how deeply Luca was feeling towards Aria. His inner monologue explained a lot and though I still hate what he did in the initial days of his marriage I did get much more of an insight into the whys of it all.I don’t forgive him quite yet but I do get it.I still wish Grace got more of a comeuppance though she got off so lightly as did Luca. Here you really do get to realise that Luca really cares about Aria and for him despite his vows in blood she is his first priority. So this is basically a rehash of bound in blood just with a few extra scenes thrown in that weren’t in the original. But despite that, I really enjoyed it and feel like I know Luca so much better for it.

Disturbing and distasteful
Generally I did like the plot, but I am going to complain on the age issue. Luca at 13 years old choosing a whore. He is still a child, I understand he was raised by a brutal and violent man but still I didn't like the way author put 13 years old and sex together. It is just wrong. And to marry 15 years old Aria, when Luca he himself is 20 years old. I find this story very twisted and distasteful.. I love a good dark romance but this is too dark.
