This step down converter is exactly what they said it would be, coverts to voltage from a dewalt battery down to 12v. It provides a good consistent output, even under load (Power Wheels full throttle). Works great for what I needed it for.

I've bought a few of these for multiple purposes. Originally I bought it so I could run 12v LED lights directly from my 36v e-bike battery. I have since bought a couple more for some more esoteric projects.I have used one to revive a completely dead car battery. A "smart" battery charger wouldn't even try to charge my wife's car battery after it sat for a little over a month without use. I connected one of these to a 250W (37.5v) solar panel and the 12v part to the dead car battery. After a few hours in the sun, the voltage on the battery came back up to 11-12v, which was enough to convince the battery charger that it could charge on its own.I have also used it in an experiment to run a 12v water pump directly from those same 250w solar panels. I was able to rig it up to convert the 37.5v down to 12v for the pump, which then pulled water out of my swimming pool, ran through a length of black pipe to heat up the water, and dump it back into the pool. All without any external electricity input! The pool got too warm for comfort in the summer, so I shut the project down, but knowing I can do this during the shoulder months will help us extend the swim season.And finally, I am now using one to power some 12v LED grow lights directly from a solar panel. It's like the plants live on the same cycle as ones grown directly by the actual sun, since this only kicks on when the panel generates enough power to run the lights, and automatically shuts down when the sun goes down. The plants are healthy and safe from outdoor heat, frost and high winds, and again there are no ongoing costs for electricity.Highly recommended if you need to convert voltages.

The instructions did not match the sticker on the unit. I wired per the sticker first and got a big arc connecting the 48V neg with no load or draw on the 12v side. Switched and wired per instructions and got a bigger arc. I don’t trust this at all.UPDATE: I received a message from the seller who said to go by the sticker for installation. The first unit was fried, and they sent a replacement. Same issue, conflicting installation instructions vs sticker on device. I installed per the sticker and it works great. I also installed a switch on the 48v side so I can reduce any phantom current when not in use.

Good replacement

I attempted to wire this to my 24 V battery system to run a 12 V fridge and I'm lucky to still have a house. Everything was spec'd, wires were all properly guaged. Instantly upon connecting terminals, before any load was attached to the output, there was a massive electrical arc (very unpleasant on the eyes), and the #10 wire I was using nearly melted. I don't know whats wrong with this thing but I will never touch another one, they should be removed from Amazon before they kill somebody. If there were negative stars you better believe this product would get them all.

Previously, I have used 120W version with my DC device at 60~80W load. But, the device is just standing for 2 years, and start to lost power incidentally. So, I decided to use much higher power version of devices.If anyone consider to buy those step-down model, I recommend to choice 2x minimum, 3x power than your needs

After one week of being on a 12v battery it stopping having any output voltage.

Install on 48volt golf cart. Works great.

The product worked great I used it on my golf cart to hook up my rear lights and front headlight that I also purchased on Amazon.
