Sleep Factory 3000 Memory Foam Orthopaedic Pocket Sprung Mattress (4FT Small Double (120cm x 190cm)

Have waited 4 weeks before posting a review. With mattresses it's too easy to love or hate in just a few days, you need time. We've been after a new mattress for a little while but the wife's too tightfisted. I did my research online and realised pocket sprung is the way to go, unfotunatley they're quite a lot more expensive than regular coil spring. Saw this for just £149 and thought it too good to be true, but 'saved for later' just in case I couldn't find it again. Spent a good month after that on every bed site there is. All the so called bargains, the sales with mattresses reduced from £1600 to just £600, the latest thing from the States available on simple payment terms, all these didn't look a patch on this on this one. The problem was, ordering a mattress online. Surely you need to at least lie on it before buying? But the mattresses in the shops that looked just the same as this one are 4 times the price. I decided to man up and to hell with what the wife would say. By the time I'd plucked up the courage to go back and order it had gone up in price by £20. Delivery was fine, arrived on time, driver had no problem finding us. He helped me into the house with it (oh yes it's big, not one of these 'rolled up in a box efforts, this is a real mattress) and away he went. We dragged it upstairs and flumped it on to the bedframe. First thing the moaning wife said "it's slightly bigger than the description" - yes by about 2 or 3 cm's at most! Anyway, getting to the point, bedtime. You know that feeling in deep snow when you can fall backward and there's that whumph sound? Well that's this mattress. At first you think it's soft, but that's only the very top layer. Then you realise how solid it is. Medium firm is exactly how I'd describe it. Pure luxury. I still can't work out why it's on sale so cheaply. If it had been advertised as 'reduced to £800' and you bought it, you'd be thinking you'd got the bargain of the year. Under £200?!? If you're considering a new mattress just get one ordered. It'll be the best thing you'll buy this year I guarantee it.

I looked for a long time for a decently priced firm mattress, and I’d bought a separate base to save some money. This was ordered on 31st of October and arrived on the 6th of November, with a weekend in between I thought it was a quick delivery. The mattress itself was well wrapped and looked to be made of good materials. It fitted the base perfectly but I thought that the “buttoned” parts on the mattress might be a tad uncomfortable so we added a cotton rich topper which helped.I had my doubts about the memory foam in the mattress but it really does make it supremely comfortable without any extra warmth which was raised by another reviewer. I suffer from leg and foot cramps most nights resulting in disturbed sleep, but since I’ve had this I haven’t had any! I don’t want to claim that it has healing powers but I’m wondering if these cramps have been eased by the softness of the mattress. I have chronic arthritis in my knees and getting in the right position for a reasonable nights sleep has been much easier since we got this.All in all, I’m a very happy customer, and find this soft but firm mattress ideal. Great value too.UPDATEThree years on and we’re still sleeping well! Neither of us are exactly small but this mattress supports our weight and continues to please. Now if only I could find pillows as good!

The mattress is advertised as medium firm it's far to soft and you can feel every spring. I felt like I was sea sick lying on this mattress I suppose you get what you pay for I ended up giving it to a charity shop.

This mattress is thick. I found it comfortable and I slept well.

Seven years later, and it finally bowed out. The middle area collapsed to form a crater. If I were confident that a new one would be like what I bought all those years ago in 2017, I would order it despite the price being almost 100 pounds higher than what I paid.……………5+ years and still in use. Almost like new.…….Still going strong four full years after first use in 2017. Thick and medium-firm. Very comfortable. I popped in to reorder but the price is way over what I paid so I may go elsewhere. Can't confirm the number of springs but it has worked really well (with sometimes two sleepers). Going by the variety of reviews, I'm wondering if the quality has dipped since I've had it.

Didn't want to return the mattress due to having to pay £25 to 3rd party delivery service which is not refundable. Did not get the mattress that is in the picture. However it is a better mattress than the one it replaces. In fact it is very comfy and pretty firm, unfortunately it has no handles and it is heavy. Buy with extreme caution

Good quality and price

We had an email stating the date it was going to be delivered so I booked the day off but after waiting in all day it never turned up! two days later it arrived the delivery guy was helpful and carried it into the passage for the wife as this time i wasn't at home the first thing I'd say it was nothing like in the photos totally different in fact one of the reasons I chose this particular mattress was because it had handles on the side of it well the one we received did not, the plastic bag covering it had slid back so the corner of it had gotten dirty during delivery so i had to scrub this up before putting it in the bed it's quite a firm mattress firmer than I really expected but that said after a week and half im getting used to it having it only a week and half I can't say if it will last the test of time but looking at the quality I'd suspect not that said if you can't afford or need a cheap mattress it fits the bill at the end of the day you get what you pay for I didn't pay a lot so never really expected a lot just don't be fooled by the photos because the one in the photos is clearly far superior and that's not what you're getting.
