Brilliant, very! stylish indeed.
This Vornado VFan Jr. Vintage is Soooo!!! beautiful, I'm very pleased!! I bought it. What more can I say about the fan? Don't expert a piece of plastic garbage, it's made out of very solid material, as everything was in the 1940's, the air that comes out is surprisingly cool, true it doesn't blowyour hair away, but as I did say it's pleasantly cool. We've got a very old 1970's big fan (ugly)with four settings, this blows more vigourously, but the air that comes out is less cool, than the Jr. Vintage. It's perfect for the small table next to my bed, enough to get by on a hot summer day, even on the lower setting. I'm pretty sure one can't find a fan so beautiful & efficiënt for this kind of price. The only slightly negative thing I possibly couldcome up with is that the fan isn't totally silent, but the noise is very acceptabele, honestly! Nowadays I know about a fan almost totally silent costing 5 times the price and very ugly. Honestly this little fan is extremely stylish. By the way people living in Europe who want to buy this have to bear in mind that in the U.S. it's 120V. you''ll have to buy a very small transformer more or less the size of mobile phone adaptor, easily found on the internet. (220V towards 110V). This is inexpensive realy, around 10 euro. If not bang!!! Regret a lot, something so beautiful could go to pieces, only a small handiness to prevent it from happening. Also the plug in system is different but it's all on the small adaptor. You have to buy your fan first and then see on the internet what you need, easy you'll see, if not sure ask the online shop to be on the safe side. Sounds a bit complicated but it's goiing to be very simple. I'm gonna take very much care of this fan, cause I love it!! Roxanne.

Fantastic!! Quiet!! Really moves the air w/out feeling breezy
At first, I was afraid this wasn't going to be adequate, but I was wrong!! The fan head itself is smaller than I expected. On low speed, it's very quiet and there is almost no perceptible breeze unless you're right in front of it, but it makes the room feel a lot cooler. I use it in the open living-dining-kitchen in my condo, which is ~850 sq ft, and it's plenty adequate, just on low. Yesterday was 94 out and I didn't have to turn on my split unit because of this. I live in a dry climate so I can get away with that easier, but I open all the windows at night and in the morning when it's cool and blow cool air in with fans, and then close up before it starts to get hot. My normal summer protocol is I turn the split unit on if it's gonna be 92 or higher but I was perfectly comfortable yesterday and didn't need it at all. Using the split unit adds a lot to my electricity bill and I just prefer not to use it if possible and this will help. It is louder on medium and high speeds, as would be expected, but I doubt I'll ever have to use it on high in the first place, and it's not very loud on M. I never would have thought a fan could look beautiful, but this kinda does, and it's perfect w/my decor.

Form meets Function in a Powerful and Beautiful Air Mover
We live in a 1950's ranch house in Northern California. We don't have air conditioning, and there are only about 3-4 times a year when it gets too hot for comfort. Rather than install central air, we have decided to invest in some decent fans. The last fan we purchased was the Rowenta stand fan. It's whisper quiet so we use it in the bedroom. We are pretty happy with it but it doesn't move a lot of air. Once the house heats up during the day, even after it gets cooler outside, the fan can't easily pull the air into the house and it takes hours to cool down the house, even when it's cooled down outside. This Vornado is a floor fan, aka "air circulator." After we purchased it, we used it in a living room about 20' by 14'. It's ability to move air is impressive on high speed. On a particularly hot night, we moved it to the bedroom to use with the Rowenta. Using these together really cooled the room quickly. This fan can push a lot of air and the Rowenta was tall enough to pull in air from the window. In the living room we have sliding doors, so the floor fan works fine.NOISE LEVELS: The fan is powerful on high speed, and you can hear it. It sounds kinda nice but is not "whisper quiet" on the high power setting. On the lowest setting it's very quiet...I had to turn the light on to see if it was turned on one night. You can adjust as needed...blast it to get the bedroom air moving for awhile, and then lower for sleep if you don't like white noise.FUNCTION: This thing is powerful...it moves air. Three easy settings...high, med., low. Very high quality, all metal construction (except fan blades...which are plastic for better engineering).FORM: The retro styling and the green color with gold accents is really gorgeous. This is something that you are happy to have sit in the room all summer...it's a beautiful little object. Great retro styling with safe electrical and grate openings (the vintage ones were much too wide for safety) But, be warned, you will be spoiled and will never want a white plastic fan again.SIZE MATTERS: I wasn't sure if I should go with the regular size or the "Sr" size. I didn't want it to be too big in the space. But since we were staring down a heatwave and I wanted to see it at its most powerful, I went for the largest size. So glad I did. It's really not large at all, but even a small increase in diameter greatly impacts air movement. Unless you want to put this on a table, go for the large size.WOULD I BUY AGAIN? I loved this fan so much I bought a second one a week later. Considering a third one.
