Perfect size for squirrels
For the price you canāt beat it. Smear a little peanut butter on the back of the trigger and let the squirrel handle the rest of it. Perfect size for squirrels and $15-$20 less than other manufacturers Iāve used in the past. I havenāt had any of the trigger issues mentioned in the bad reviews but it sounds like theyāre making the bait too easy to get to or it could be something thatās easily fixed with oil.

Caught 3 squirrels in 36 hours
I HAD a squirrel problem. Not your typical urban squirrels, but desert rock squirrels. Digging under foundations and walls, and destroying the flowers I planted, and gobbling up the bird food I threw out for the birds here in the Chihuahuan Desert. It's bad enough that I have to deal with scorpions, tarantulas and rattle snakes... but squirrels too!? I placed a chunk of peanut butter on a small piece of scrap metal in the area behind the trigger, set the trap in front of their den, and within one hour I'd caught one. The trap isn't small, it's medium sized and plenty big for the average squirrel. The next morning I set the trap again and caught the second squirrel within an hour. I caught the third one the next morning. Within 36 hours, all three squirrels were gone. Problem solved. I've used poison, I've shot at them... so I'm glad I found a fast, effective solution. Best 30 bucks I've spent in a long time. Now I'm curious if it will be effective against the pack rats that live in one my my large cacti... This isn't a mice catcher (the grid holes are too large) but pack rats are big, so maybe it will work.

Great but wish it was a little bigger
I purchased this squirrel cage after noticing increased activity around my bird feeders and garden. After some research, I chose this model due to the solid reviews, reasonable price, and humane design ā and Iām happy to say it has lived up to expectations in nearly every way.The cage is well-built with sturdy metal wiring and a reliable spring-loaded trap door. Setup was straightforward ā I just placed some peanut butter on a cracker on the trigger plate, and within 24 hours, I had my first little visitor. The door snapped shut cleanly and securely, and the squirrel was safely contained without any signs of injury or panic. Iāve now used it multiple times, and itās worked consistently every time.I appreciate the thoughtful design, especially the smooth edges and the handle with a protective plate, which makes transporting the cage easy and safe. The trigger mechanism is sensitive enough to trip even with lightweight squirrels, but not so touchy that it misfires when bumped or jostled by the wind.My only minor gripe ā and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 ā is the size. Itās adequate for smaller squirrels, but I do wish it had just a bit more room inside. A slightly larger size would reduce stress for the animals and give them a little more space to move until I can release them. If youāre dealing with larger squirrels or plan to use this for other small critters like chipmunks or rats, you may want to look into a larger model.Overall, this is an excellent, humane trap that works exactly as advertised. Itās a great solution for anyone looking to relocate squirrels without harm. Just keep in mind the size limitations ā otherwise, itās a solid investment and one Iād recommend.

Works perfect!
This trap is excellent! If you have a squirrel issue get this now! I had 12 squirrels absolutely overrun my yard and start devouring my mango tree. I caught every single one of them within 5 days! They are now living there happy little carefree lives 7 miles away! šæ

Caught the squirrel first day
I set this trap and tried it out and the mechanism worked but I found the right bait is very important, once I put in the correct bait, I caught the squirrel the very same day took him to a safe place with lots of trees and let them go so Iām happy with this product.

Works as advertised.
Worked exactly as intended. Been having a problem with rabbits eating my garden flowers. Got this trap 2 days ago. We have had it set out for the past couple of days trying to lure the rabbits with carrots and swiss chard. Caught one of them today.

DO NOT PURCHASE!
I donāt even want to give these 1 star because they do not work for catching squirrels as they show on the cover of the box as advertised, but I had to rate them with a starā¦so 1 star is all they will get. I bought 2 of these and unless you are trying to catch a 5lb or more animal and the animal pounced up and down on the trigger flap inside the cage ā¦you wonāt catch anything with these traps. I had to physically push down and put weight on both trigger trap flaps inside for the trigger trap flap to get the door to close. Both traps were the exact sameā¦so it was not a faulty trapā¦just the way they are made. I knew the light body weight of a squirrel or chipmunkā¦(which are destroying my backyard and chewing on my house, deck and deck furniture) would never trigger the door to close and I was correct. I put a small plastic cup with nuts ,inside the trap, behind the trigger flap where they would stand on in order to get the door to close behind them, and not only did they walk inside the traps (I witnessed) and stood on the trigger flaps the entire time, while they leisurely ate the nuts inside the tiny plastic bowls, but they actually stole the bowl itself full of nuts ,out of the trap, and carried it up the tree all while the doors on the traps remained wide open wide open. All I could do is laugh at how terrible the traps wereā¦yet not happy that it cost me over $70 for 2 non working traps. I have purchased traps in the past that worked great. Purchased these because I thought the black cages would be less noticeable than the shiny silver ones and I needed new ones. I will be sending these back and getting my money back. Do not waste your money or time purchasing these trapsā¦you will be returning them as wellā¦trust me.
