Simple to use and gives great coffee but some design flaws
Bought this to replace a de Longhi machine which had failed after about 8 years. This Beko model outperforms the de Longhi machine by being faster, less expensive and adjustable in terms of the amount of water passed through the filter basket. The delivered coffee is as good as any I have tasted from other machines (or cafes). I like the way in which it primes the coffee in the basket with a small amount of hot water before moving on to the full flow. However, it has a couple of design flaws:1) the machine is light in weight and you need to hold it steady while inserting and fixing the filter basket holder. I find that it is too easy to accidentally touch one of the start buttons (for single or double dose) while doing this and thus have to rush to get my (pre-heated) cup under the outlet.2) the basket holder has a hinged flap of plastic the purpose of which I have not identified. It can get in the way of the basket holder when inserting it in the machine.Despite these two reservations I have no hesitation in giving it 5 stars on the basis of quality of coffee and value for money.

A small modern compact coffee machine
As a connoisseur of compact kitchen appliances, I was instantly drawn to the sleek design and small footprint of this coffee machine. From the moment I unboxed it, the quality was evident – it certainly doesn't feel cheap. The materials are sturdy, and the fit and finish are impressive, giving it a premium aesthetic that belies its relatively modest size. It tucks away neatly on my counter, a definite plus for anyone with limited space.Operating the machine is a breeze, with intuitive controls that make brewing a daily ritual rather than a chore. The speed at which it brews is also commendable, delivering a fresh cup in what feels like no time at all. And the coffee itself? The flavor extraction is excellent, producing a rich and nuanced taste that truly satisfies. However, there's one significant drawback that prevents this machine from being truly perfect: the coffee temperature. While the brew quality is high, the resulting coffee consistently falls short of being piping hot. It's warm enough to drink immediately, but for those who prefer their coffee scalding hot, it might be a bit of a disappointment. I often find myself needing to microwave my cup for an extra 15-20 seconds to achieve my desired warmth, which, while a minor inconvenience, does detract from the overall experience. In conclusion, if a compact, well-built, and aesthetically pleasing coffee machine that produces great-tasting coffee is your priority, and you're not overly concerned with scorching hot temperatures (or don't mind a quick zap in the microwave), then this machine is a fantastic choice. It delivers on its promise of quality and convenience, just with a slightly cooler embrace.

Compact machine
This is a really compact space saving machine, without any loss of function. I really like that the flow of coffee is timed, which is great if you're easily distracted. This one's also a Which? recommendation.

Bad taste of plastic
Had a terrible time with this machine. It looks really nice and it's easy enough to use, but both the coffee and water from the steamer had a horrible plastic taste. The issue didn't go away after running lots of water through it. Ended up returning it.

Not hot enough
Easy to use and looks good however there is one big problem, it just doesn't heat the milk up enough and every coffee is luke warm. You need to microwave the milk first which then makes the rest of the machine pretty pointless. A shame as otherwise this would be really good

Budget best buy.
For the budget price this is the best grind your own coffee machine I have used. Unlike DeLonghi models (I have had a few) which drip like crazy and blow their seals regularly after about a year, this is no trouble at all. It has a limited range of functions, but when you get to know them, you still have flexibility. The pressure is good enough. The milk frother works well. And it is all very quick - ready to go in less than 10 seconds after turning on. As I say, no dripping, and primary espresso function does not seize up. Also, much easier than some to descale. It tells you when to do this. And it's smaller than most - fits into limited kitchen space. Not much bigger than a Nespresso.

Great Coffee maker.
I love this coffee maker! For our regular coffee I put milk & sugar in the cups, warm in the microwave, then put cup under machine and select Double Espresso. For Cappuccino I fill the cups with hot water and leave to stand while I get the machine ready. Next I empty the cup, add sugar and place under the machine and select Cappuccino. It fills my cup with delicious Cappuccino and I sprinkle a little drinking chocolate power on top.If you warm the cups up with hot water first then Cappuccino and Latte are perfectly hot enough. When removing the milk container for cleaning I recommend holding a dish cloth under the spout to catch the drips.Rinse milk container, fill with water and refit to machine, put a mug under the machine, and press the milk jug button to flush out any milk residue. I flush it twice to make sure.I would recommend this coffee maker.
